Description:Built in 1922, an unassuming two-story venue on William St was once home to The Patch Theatre, started by Edward & Ida Beeby in the late 1930’s - a dynamic duo who went on to found WA’s Anti-Fascist League. With a flair for theatrics, activism and a little champagne socialism, Edward & Ida were the perfect muses to inspire this Northbridge’s watering hole from the award-winning team behind Foxtrot Unicorn and Nieuw Ruin. Edward & Ida’s was the dream of a ragtag group of some of Perth’s most passionate hospitality talent. This is the bar we wanted to linger in on our days off, and now we get to spend every day here. The place has aesthetic value as a simple Inter-War Free Classical building, contributing to the visual qualities of the highly intact streetscape. The place has aesthetic value for its visual connection to other buildings in the William Street streetscape
