Description:St George's College is the oldest residential college at the University of Western Australia, built in an Interwar Gothic style, located directly opposite UWA between the Swan River and Kings Park. The original buildings and chapel represent one of the most important precincts of historical buildings in Western Australia, framed by heritage-listed gardens. The college opened in 1931 thanks to funds Sir John Winthrop Hackett left in his will to establish a church college at UWA in the collegiate Oxbridge style. During the academic period, the college is home to 270 university students from across WA and the world. In summer it transforms into a wedding and accommodation venue hosting conferences, sporting groups, school camps, international students and more There are no tennis courts on the St George’s College grounds.
