Description:Wedge Island is a settlement located north of Lancelin and south of Cervantes on the Western Australian coast. It is approximately 140 km north-west of Perth. The name mainly refers to the mainland settlement but also refers to a 400-metre long wedge shaped island located just south of "the point". It contains recreational shack settlements located on the coastline, you will get a sense of the old pioneering spirit in the self sufficient lifestyle of yesteryear, a little slice of history. A lifestyle where water has to be harvested from tin rooves to sustain the long summers, power must be generated for lighting and shelters are erected from recycled materials for protection against the elements.
