Rich in history, Woody Island is one of the 105 islands in the Recherche Archipelago located just 15km off the coast of Esperance, Western Australia. Woody Island is accessible by ferry. The island lacks snakes and other predators that would normally make wildlife timid. Wander along one of the island walks and enjoy close encounters with curious birds and lazy lizards, or take the plunge into the crystal clear water of Shearwater Bay and explore marine life on the interpretive snorkel trail.
