Description:El Questro Station is a cattle station that diversified its pastoral operation to include tourism, located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. It remains a working cattle station with a herd of approximately 6,000 head. In 2012 the pastoral station includes a wilderness park, which is located 110 kilometres (68 mi) west of Kununurra and is accessed from the Gibb River Road and encompasses an area of over 1,000,000 acres (404,685.6 hectare/ 4,047 km2) that extends some 80 kilometres (50 mi) into the heart of the Kimberley. The station was first established in 1903, Delaware North took ownership in March 2010. There are three resorts on El Questro: Emma Gorge (offering safari cabins) located at, The Station (bungalows and camping) located at and The Homestead (luxury rooms and suites) El Questro Wilderness Park and is located 1 hour drive east of Kununurra. Kununurra is a 3 hour flight north east of Perth. By road it is a 33 hour drive, consisting of 3042km (1890miles). In Kununurra, June to August provides little rain with temperatures averaging 15°C to 34°C (59 °F to 93.2°F), and September to November offers slightly warmer conditions from 21°C to 39°C (69.8°F to 102.2°F) with more rain likely in October to November. The wet season (November to April) is sweltering, oppressive, and overcast and the dry season is hot and partly cloudy. The property is closed between November and and March due to the intense weather conditions. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 15°C to 38°C and is rarely below 11°C or above 41°C. Saltwater Crocodiles are present in the waterways.
Usage Restriction:Tucked away in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia the most direct way to get to us is via the town of Kununurra. From here we are just 110 kilometres west on mostly sealed roads: 58 kilometres on the Great Northern Highway towards Wyndham, 36 kilometres on the Gibb River Road with the remaining 16 kilometres on a gravel. Regarded as one of the great Australian 4WD tracks, the Gibb River Road is now sealed from Kununurra to the entrances of both El Questro Emma Gorge and El Questro Station. https://www.elquestro.com.au/about-us/getting-here
