Description:South Beach is located in Fremantle’s inner harbour, a five minute drive from the centre of Fremantle. This family friendly beach has superb views of Rottnest, Carnac, and Garden islands, and is the perfect place to enjoy a swim, a picnic or BBQ. Enjoy a coffee or a meal at the relaxed beachside cafe. South Beach is comprised of three sections, the two northern sections are managed by the City of Fremantle: - Section 1, the northernmost section is a dog beach with a large grassy area, very popular on the weekends. - Section 2, middle section, home to the South Beach Cafe and a large grass area. Seasonal trading during the summer period hosts typically hosts a shipping container sauna or beach hire. Featuring an update changeroom since July 2025.
Usage Restriction:South Beach is Fremantle's most popular beach from November till March. Filming on the weekend is not allowed as parking is limited.
