BEACHES / COASTAL - Lighthouses

Description:
Quobba is a wonderful example of how various elements of a lighthouse can be recycled. When the lighthouse was first constructed in 1950, it used the original stairway and lantern from the Point Cloates Lighthouse. This lantern in turn had earlier been used in the Cape Wickham Lighthouse, Tasmania. Originally built in 1860, the lens is on loan to the WA Maritime Museum but is not currently on show to the public.
