Cheela Plains Station

Australia / Paraburdoo, Western Australia
Location ID: #10254669

Cheela Plains Station is a family-owned and managed 500,000-acre/202,343-hectare working cattle station nestled in the semi-arid, pastoral rangelands of the Pilbara in northern Western Australia. The station is situated between the World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef and Karijini National Park.

On a station the size of Cheela Plains, there are plenty of amazing locations between the reef and ranges to explore, including the geological wonderland of Beasley Gorge, the refreshing inland swimming hole of Mussel Pool, the impressive vertical rock wall of Perentie Fall and The Wall, a spectacular geological formation showing hundreds of millions of years of water-induced erosion stunningly displayed in this serene and colourful amphitheatre. The Stations offer epic Pilbara views up to the foothills of the Hammersley Ranges to the north and the rugged outback wilderness of the region's surrounds.

The station stay offers powered and unpowered sites in the campground, private bush campsites, air-conditioned rooms, either en suite or with shared bathrooms, conference rooms, wireless internet access, mobile phone coverage and approximately 150 square metres of undercover area. We have Telstra and Optus signal, a communal fire pit and camp kitchen with a fridge, stove and sink. The Red Plains Café is open daily from 7:30am to 2:30 pm, serving barista coffee, cake, snacks and lunch.

Cheela Plains is 170 km (1h 23min) southwest of Tom Price Visitor Centre (via Paraburdoo) and 320 km northeast (4h 47min) of Exmouth on the Nanutarra-Munjina Road (Hwy 136). The Station Campground is 1km off the main highway and accessible by 2-wheel-drive car. Paraburdoo is just over an hour away.
