Usage Restriction: There has been an update to the process of applying to film in the Lancelin Dunes (Lancelin Offroad Vehicle Area - LORVA). Permission to undertake an activity in LORVA needs to be granted by the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) in the first instance. The process for gaining permission is to submit a Crown land enquiry form found here https://www.wa.gov.au/government/document-collections/submitting-crown-land-enquiry If approved, DPLH will issue a letter of approval to the applicant. They can then apply to the Shire using the online form here https://www.gingin.wa.gov.au/forms/?formId=21and and pay the relevant fees for the filming permit.

Lancelin is a small fishing and tourist town 127 km north of Perth, Western Australia. Attractively nestled between a large, safe bay with 2 large islands and extensive sand dunes, nestled directly behind the township of Lancelin, the sand dunes are the largest in the state containing absolutely nothing but pure white sand and no vegetation. They are around 2 kilometres long and provide the perfect spot for sandboarding. A spectacular sight at sunrise or sunset. The bay of Lancelin is by far it's best feature. The calm waters of this bay are beautiful.
